Monkeys

We have been meaning to take Big K's colleague and fiancee from UK to see monkeys, but the last time we arranged to do that, it poured heavily that morning, so we did not get to go. This time round, we arranged to go again, before they actually go back to England, and prayed for good weather. Luckily for all of us, the weather was beautiful on Saturday morning. They specifically requested to see monkeys, and we decided to take them to MacRitchie reservoir, where monkeys are aplenty. I have been there countless times to jog, but this time the feeling was different, as we were on a mission to find monkeys. We saw a big group of monkeys as we walked along the path and went near them.

Next we went to Katong for a traditional kaya bun and kopi breakfast. As we were looking for a parking lot near to our next stop, Katong laksa, a Hindu temple caught our friends' attention and we all went in to take a look. It was my first time in a Hindu temple, and they were having a ceremony. There were 2 men playing traditional instruments, while prayers were going on. The music, colorful decorations and smell from the incense teased our senses. After the delicious Katong laksa, it was time for an ice-cool beer over interesting conversation at East Coast Park. The final stop was Bedok Central where our friends can experience the real "neighbourhood" shopping.
