Redang

This year, to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday, we went to the idyllic Redang Island for a "romantic getaway" as L has so nicely put it. After a 11-hour bus ride followed by a one-hour ferry ride, we reached our destination, feeling hungry and tired. I started to appreciate the beauty of the island after i was fed and rested. We changed into our swimming gear and jumped right into the sea. The water was crystal clear and we could see fishes swimming around us. The water turned lovely shades of turquoise under the sun; combined with the sandy white beaches, it really felt like paradise. It was time to leave all the work and stress behind.

On the second day, we got up early to catch the sunrise and went snorkelling. We saw many different types of fishes and big k couldn't get enough. He was so excited when he saw nemo... ha ha.

We snorkelled, we swam, we strolled along the beach, or simply did nothing. It has been a memorable long weekend. I was trying to whisper in big k's ears that maybe, just maybe, we can do Maldives the next time...
